Flashpoint Intolerant & George Paris Around two hundred people, of all ages, enjoyed todays concert from the bandstand in Collett Park.
The set began with George Paris, a vary talented young man, who knew how to make his guitar sing. George played some covers as well as some of his own compositions... it was a rainy day... and the instrumental he finished his set with was delightful. To play for 20 minutes unaccompanied is quite some feat, thank you George, you have a new fan base to impress! We are hoping to stream some video of George's performance so that those of you who missed it can take a look.... Flashpoint Intolerant followed and, it is safe to say, they livened the park up with a set that they clearly enjoyed playing for the growing crowd.
Five young men, three on guitar, one on keyboard and a drummer, rocking the park with their own music. Lots of people who had enjoyed the previous Brass Band concerts had come along to support the young people and they all stayed until the end of the set, good on them Maybe we can welcome Pinstripe to the bandstand soon! Shepton 21 owe a huge debt of thanks to the irrepressible Harold Spirrell, park keeper extordinairre, without whom this series of concerts would not have happened. Many thanks as well to Shepton Mallet Chamber of Commerce and the various businesses that sponsored the concerts |
