The Sustainable Communities Act
(22/12/2008 01.07pm)

This Act is special because it establishes for the first time a co-operative method of decision making so that all the decisions are no longer made at the centre and this legislation can attract resources to the local area as well as decision making.

It is so much more than just another consultation exercise. Councils have a legal duty to co-operate with panels of local people in deciding which suggestions to make to the Secretary of State as to how community decline can be reversed.

Have a look at some of the resources under the 'SCA' menu item.
